The Cove Ridge Foundation has been instrumental in providing the support needed to host many of the special programs at Cove Ridge Center. The Foundation is comprised of 4 councils: Cultural Arts, Education, Outdoor Pursuits and Tourism. Each of these councils work to pursue programs that will benefit the region. Many of the current board members played a large part in the grass roots movement that was the main force in the passage of legislation which provided the funding for the construction of the Cove Ridge Center. These same board members have spent countless hours volunteering their time to obtain funding, planning and presenting the special programs sponsored by all the councils. Without their efforts, the Cove Ridge Center would not exist. In addition to their support of the programs sponsored by the individual councils, the Cove Ridge Foundation and Advisory Board also sponsors the Papa Joe Smiddy Mountain Music Festival held on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend and in conjunction with Duffield Daze.
